In the series of bag packaging machines where the VVI is intermittently operated, linear motor drives are used on the cross-clamping device of the new Rovema VPL 400 and VPL 180. The motor is said to be maintenance-free, wear-free, fast, and free from backlash, and it can improve the quality of the seal.
