The German company BASF's polyolefin light stabilizer grade Uvinul 5050H has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in flour packaging, grain woven bags and milk containers for food contact.
Uvinul5050H is BASF's newly developed stabilizer. It is a sterically hindered amine light stabilizer that captures the free radicals generated by plastics after ultraviolet irradiation and prevents the plastics from being exposed to outdoor degradation. In addition, Uvinul5050H also has the following advantages: It can improve the antistatic performance of plastics; it does not react with the processing aid fluoroelastomer and has good compatibility with the colorant; the product is a very fluid and non-dust particulate material.
