Dr. Priscilla Hollander of the Baylor University Medical Center and his colleagues tested the efficacy and safety of concurrent administration of both CANA and PHEN in a randomized clinical trial involving 335 patients without type 2 diabetes. Obese or overweight participants also had a placebo group and a CANA and PHEN monotherapy group. Participants were randomized to receive placebo, CANA, PHEN, or CANA/PHEN medication once daily.
The researchers found that in the 26th week compared with the placebo group, the CANA/PHEN simultaneous administration group had a more pronounced weight loss effect, with weight loss exceeding 5% and systolic blood pressure also decreasing. In addition, CANA/PHEN is well tolerated and has good safety and tolerability compared to the drug group alone.
"CANA/PHEN is a drug that delivers significant weight loss and is resistant to overweight or obese individuals without type 2 diabetes," the authors write. “There is a need for further research in the future to assess the potential use of this combination of drugs for long-term management of body weight.â€
