Tin printing

Sheet-plate printing is a method of printing on a metal plate, or metal printing, and printing a picture on a material such as a tin plate or an aluminum plate.

The printing method of sheet metal printing uses lithographic offset printing, and the structure of the plate making and printing machine is basically the same as the method of ordinary printing paper. Because the printed metal plate cannot be bent like a paper and cling to the impression cylinder, the metal plate can only pass horizontally between the blanket cylinder and the impression cylinder, so the arrangement and output between the three cylinders of the printing section Some are different from ordinary offset printing.

The tin print has a variety of coatings due to the characteristics of the metal raw material, as shown in Figure 6-4.

Before printing, metal plates are first cleaned and then printed by offset printing. First, a layer of base varnish 4 is printed, the second layer is printed with a white base layer 3, and then graphic 2 is printed in sequence. Finally, varnish 1 is printed. Because metals do not have absorption properties, they must be baked and dried once after each color has been printed. Therefore, the printing machine is equipped with a drying device. The purpose of baking is to speed up the drying of the oxidized conjunctiva of the volatile ink so that it does not affect the overprinting work of the next color.

Drying method can use steam, infrared, electric heating, etc., the oven is long, the printed product enters from one end, and it is dry when it comes out from the other end, the oven temperature is between 150-2000Â°C, the temperature of the lower layer varnish needs 200Â°C, and the printing When trapping and varnishing, the oven temperature is around 150Â°C.

Metal prints can easily abrade the printing plate, so all use indirect printing. The prints are transferred through blankets to make the contact form hard, soft, and hard to meet the ink transfer performance of the print.

Tin printing ink has special requirements, because the substrate is metal, the ink is fixed on the metal surface is more difficult, so the ink should meet the following requirements: heat resistance, after baking 150 Â°C, the ink color is still very bright, color ink Not dull, white does not yellow; fastness, strong adhesion, printing graphics and graphics will not fall off by mechanical stamping; resistance to pressure vapor, food cans after sterilization sterilization, the ink layer can withstand water The effect of steam is constant without swelling; the erosion of solvent resistance, as well as light resistance, weather resistance, etc., can withstand sunlight and various weather without discoloration or discoloration.

Tin printing is often used to make candy biscuit boxes, food cans, stationery boxes, beer cans, children's toys, and beautiful decoration products.
