Since 1860, the history of SIMOND has been associated with mountaineering. The SIMOND brothers were blacksmiths who specialized in farming tools. With the rise of modern mountaineering, the SIMOND brothers created the first hailstones in the town of Chamonix, under the highest peak of the Alps in Mont Blanc. In 1860, Frangois simond decided to devote all his energy to the essentials and realization of mountaineering equipment. SIMOND is still a family business. Ludger Simond’s chairman and general manager is the third generation descendant of the family. The factory is located in the Chamonix Valley, which is the capital of world climbing.
