Omron Launches RFID Tags Compliant with EPC Gen 2

Omron recently announced the release of an RFID "waveform" tag that conforms to the EPC Gen 2 standard and can be used in all UHF RFID applications worldwide. The international standard for UHF RFID's communication band is between 860 MHz and 960 MHz. Bill Arnold, chief strategy officer of Omron RFID, said: “In the past, satisfactory read and write performance was achieved only by using different labels for frequency bands in various regions. The industry increasingly requires that all UHF RFID frequencies be readable and writable. A single RFID tag is a great benefit for product manufacturers because they can use the same label for products sold worldwide."
