China Packaging Network Compilation: DeviceNet safety controller is the first safety control device that can control multiple safety functions without PLC safety equipment, which can reduce the cost of integrated safety and control network. This control can work with existing DeviceNet PLCs, it can also be used as a stand-alone device, and it can also be used with non-DeviceNet systems to coordinate safety functions. The DeviceNet safety controller is based on the recently released CIP safety protocol (an open protocol standard that conforms to the EN954-1 Class 4 standard and the IEC 610508 SIL3 standard) and can be widely applied to a variety of products, including advanced Diagnostic features and easy maintenance and status information.
Background information
DeviceNet has now become the international standard IEC62026-3 (2000-07) low-voltage switchgear and control equipment - controller - device interface, has also been listed as the European standard EN50325. In addition, DeviceNet is actually a device network standard in Asia and the Americas, and has been supported by many manufacturers around the world. There are thousands of registered products that meet the DeviceNet specification, and the number of DeviceNet node devices actually used has reached millions. . In North America and Japan, DeviceNet has the highest market share in its class and has also shown strong growth in other parts of the world.
Although DeviceNet entered China relatively late, it has been highly valued by relevant domestic departments and units for its outstanding advantages. On October 8, 2002, DeviceNet was approved as China National Standard GB/T18858.3-2002, and implemented on April 1, 2003, which further promoted the promotion and application of DeviceNet fieldbus technology in China.
DeviceNet is a low-cost communications bus. It connects industrial equipment (eg limit switches, photoelectric sensors, manifolds, motor starters, process sensors, bar code readers, variable frequency drives, panel displays and operator interfaces) to the network, eliminating expensive hard wiring cost. Direct interconnectivity improves communication between devices and at the same time provides a significant level of device-level diagnostics that are difficult to achieve with hard-wired I/O interfaces. DeviceNet is a simple network solution that reduces the cost and time for wiring and installing industrial automation equipment while providing interchangeability between similar parts of multiple vendors.
DeviceNet not only allows devices to connect and communicate with each other with a single cable, but more importantly, it brings device level diagnostics to the system. This feature is difficult to implement on traditional I/O.
DeviceNet is an open network standard. Specifications and protocols are open, and vendors need not pay for hardware, software, or licenses when they connect devices to the system. Any organization or individual interested in DeviceNet technology can obtain DeviceNet specifications from the Open DecisionNet Suppliers Association (ODVA), and can join ODVA to participate in the technical working group to supplement the DeviceNet specification.
