Offset printing paper volume calculation method

The Measures for the Adjustment of the Paper Plus-Rate Rates of the Printing and Milling Plants of the Beijing Book and Periodicals formulated by the State Press and Publication Administration (which can be found in the printing price list of the Beijing area in 1996) are the basis for the settlement of paper between the publishing houses and the printing factories. The third and fourth tables of the method are the offset printing platform (book edition) and the color printing and release rate. The first item of these two forms of annotation is that the number of printing and placing is less than 60 pieces per color, and 60 pieces are counted.

The 60 figures specified in this commentary are absolute figures, which are calculated by the printed personnel, such as the number of books, the number of openings, etc., calculated from the number of papers in use and multiplied by the rate of increase and release. The formula is the number of books. x Print sheets plus the number of papers plus two. From this, we can see that knowing only the known condition on the left side of the equal sign does not immediately and intuitively determine whether the number of papers added to the right of the equal sign is less than 60. To determine, we must conduct trial operations, which increases the workload. It is more troublesome. If it is more troublesome for multi-link printing, it is not easy to reach a consensus between the publishing house and the printing factory.

In order to solve this problem intuitively, we propose the following simple calculation method for reference only.
(1) The customer order number of a product is defined as the number of books.
(2) The number of impressions printed on the product by the printer is defined as the number of impressions. For single-line printing products, the number of books and the number of prints are the same, and the number of books printed in multiple copies is a multiple of the number of prints.

(3) Assume that the printing press prints a single product, under what conditions is the number of additional papers to be 60?

According to the calculation formula of the number of papers added and released, the number of prints can be obtained (printing number x "" sheets) plus the release rate, and the rate of addition and release according to Table 3 and Table 4 is set to 0. On the day of the month, there are the number of impressions x 0, 9% = 60, and the number of impressions = 60/0.9% = 6667.

Therefore, the 6667 is the number of impressions when the number of additions and discharges is exactly 60. From this, it can be concluded that:
1 When the number of prints is less than or equal to 6667, 60 shots are added per color.

2 When the number of prints is greater than 6667, the print rate can be multiplied by the rate of increase and release.

(4) In the case of single-joint printing, the number of copies is the number of impressions. According to the two conclusions in Article (3), the method of calculating the number of additions and discharges can be determined. If it is multi-joint printing, it is also very simple. Simply divide the number of books by the number of joints, compare the number with 6667, and then press the conclusion in (3) to determine the calculation method.
(5) In practical calculations, the 60-sheet “sheet” unit does not necessarily refer to a sheet of uncut original paper, but refers to the size of the paper actually used by the printing press. Open, three open, open, full open, etc., the corresponding number of actual paper should be (a pair of open).

Six open: 60/(6/2) = 20 squares Open: 60/(4/2) = 30 squares Open: 60/(3/2) = 40 squares Off: 60/(2/2) = 60 full open: 60/(1/2) two 120 squares
(6) The calculation of zero-print sheets requires clear two concepts.

The first is the publication of the printed sheets, which is the number of sheets we see on the copyright page of the book, such as 1.125, 1.25, 1.375, 1.5, 10.75, 8.75, etc., which are less than 1 Stamp sheets are collectively referred to as zero sheets.

The second is to install (on) edition stamps, which means that the printing press is equipped with several editions, and the number of printed zero-printed copies can only be larger than the number of printed copies, such as 0.5, 0.25, and 0.125. Sheets, 0.375, 0.625, and 0.75 need to be divided into 0.125+0.25, 0.125+0.5, and 0.25+0.5. Two sets of printed sheets, 0.875 need to be divided into 0.125 +0.25 +0.5 three times, so it is three loaded printed sheets. The difference between the two concepts is also directly related to the calculation of the number of prints and the number of printing presses in Taiwan.

Below is an example of calculating the amount of offset printing paper.

(1) cover, eight open, four-color, print number 50,000, four printing on the boot. Then 50,000/4; 125,000, greater than 6667, according to the normal addition, 12500 × 4 (color) × 0.9% = 450 square.

(2) Advertising, 12 open, 4 colors, 15,000 prints, 4 boot triple printing. Then 15,000 / 3 = 0.5 million, less than 6667, calculated as 60, 60 / (4 / 2) × 4 color = 120 square.

(3) The zero stamp of a book is 0.875, the printing number is 16,000, and double-sided printing. The 0.875 divided into 0.5, 0.25, 0.125 three sets of printed sheets respectively calculated 16000 × 0.5 = 8000, greater than 6667, with 8000 × 0.9% × 2 surface = 144 square, 16000 × 0.25 and 16000 × 0.125, the numbers were less than 6667, calculated as 60 sheets, 60 × 2 (face) × 2 (sub-plate) = 240 squares.
