I. Types of additional pages
Additional pages include inserts, liners, fraction pages, and the like.
insert. The printed pages in the books are printed separately, and the pages that are inserted in the books are the same as the inserts. Interludes and body text generally do not have a direct link up and down. Sometimes the insert size is the same as the original, but a single page printed in paper or color that is different from the text is also called an insert. There are also art illustrations, maps, and forms related to the text. Printed separately using colored papers, such as the sepia-type prints, the more elaborate books sometimes have the author's photographs, handwritings, and inscriptions of someone before the text. Also called inserts. Inserts are mostly not counted in page numbers. If they are counted, they are also coded.
Lining page. A blank page lined between seals 2 and 2 and between the last page and the third page of the text. The former is called front liner and the latter is called back liner. Some books have two linked front and back pages before and after the book, known as the link ring lining, referred to as the ring lining, which is an indispensable part of the hardcover and thread-bound. There is also the front ring lining together with the lintel, that is, in the second half of the front ring lining, the text of the title page is printed, so that the ring lining that connects the front page is called false ring lining. Paperback books generally do not have rear loops, except for special requirements. The ring lining must be glued to the front and back folds before lining up. Zero page. Failed to put complete pages of charts, etc.
Sticky and additional pages complicate the processing of signatures and book blocks and take up a great deal of manual labor. If the lock line is not easy to open and close, because the thickness of the book block and the back of the book are different, the combination of the book block and the book case is easy to crack when the book is read. Therefore, when designing the structure of the book, the appearance of the additional page should be avoided as much as possible. If there are a large number of graphic materials that need to be attached to a signature, these figures should be evenly distributed throughout the book's signature. It is best not to have two inserts in a single signature.
Second, the type, characteristics and selection of liner
Linings can be classified according to their structure and decorative features.
According to the structural characteristics, the lining can be divided into ordinary full-paper linings (as shown in Figure 3-1a), lining the lining (as shown in Figure 3-1b) and its own lining (as shown in Figure 3-1c. ).
According to the decorative features, the backing sheet may be an unprinted white page or a mica paper, or may be printed with a decorative pattern or an irrelevant decorative pattern related to the contents of the book.
Plain full-paper liner. It is a folded blank page past the first page of the book's first book and the last page of the last page (see Figure 3-1a). The width of the uncut liner should be twice the width of the book block and the length should be the length of the book block before it is cut. The folded page width should be equal to the width of the signature.
Ordinary full-paper liner applications are relatively common, because the folding and pasting of this liner is relatively simple and has been mechanized. The disadvantage of this type of liner is that because of the fear that the sewing needle penetrates the crease of the liner, sticking the liner requires a certain distance along the crease, and that the fastness of the creased seam is not High, when the book is opened and closed, the lining page tightens the lyre, so that the first page and the lining of the signature are separated from the book block, which reduces the service life of the book.
Lining lining. Cover the backing of a cloth or paper lining along the back of the book (the signature and the outer fold of the lining) (see Figure 3-1b). The function of the bag lining is to enhance the strength of the folds at the lining page, to strengthen the connection between the lining pages and the signatures, and to prevent the operation of the book block during the processing of the book block (when rounding and ridges), the lining pages, and the creases on the top and bottom of the page. Tools are crushed to increase the fastness of the connection between the book block and the hardcover cover.

The main disadvantage of the liner lining is that the hardness and thickness of the folds of the signatures are increased after the linings are wrapped. Therefore, it is more difficult to use the sewing machine to staple the first and last placards, and the ordinary full paper lining is added. The disadvantage of the page is that when the book is opened and closed, the same page is used to affect the useful life of the book.
Own page. The first two pages of the first post and the last two pages of the last post are used as the backing pages. Blank pages should be left in the first and last posts. The self-lining sheet is used in a paperback book with a thickness of 20mm or less, and the book paper should basically meet the requirement of the paper for the backing sheet. The self-lining is a more economical backing sheet, so it does not require special fabrication and bonding, but the signature should be longitudinal cut, ie, the signature should be vertical, which is when printing with web offset presses It is difficult to guarantee completely. If you use the sewing thread to set the book block, you can see the stitches of the sewing machine's sewing thread when you open the first page and the last page of the book, affecting the appearance.
The use of different types of backing pages should be based on the type of book, the thickness of the book block, the size, size, length of use, and frequency of use. For ordinary publications, the backing sheet is mainly selected according to the thickness of the book block, because as the thickness of the book increases, the load intensity at the spine of the book increases as the book is read. At present, there is no standard for selecting the type of lining page according to the thickness of the book, but the general rule is that when the thickness of the book block is small, the lining page itself can be used; with the increase of the thickness of the book, an ordinary full-paper lining can be used. , Lining lining page.
Make liners that use special liners or offset and cover papers that are similar in performance to liners. Lining paper should be selected with the decorative characteristics of the backing sheet, the type, and the thickness of the book block. Most linings use hinges. Since the linings are used to connect the book cover and the book block, it is required that the lining paper should have strong toughness. It is preferable to use an offset paper with a basis weight of 120-150 g/m2 for normal full-paper liners and liner liner liners. For thicker books use 120 to 150 g/m2 art paper or heavier kraft paper. For self-lining, with the use of book paper, the ration is about 100g/m2.
The liner paper should have a high degree of sizing. According to the light industry department standard QB323-80, the sizing degree of the mica paper is not less than 1.5mm. This is because:
1 When glue is applied on the lining of the liner (plasma), avoid local deformation;
2 In order to prevent curling after applying a water-containing adhesive on the liner;
3 In order to prevent the leakage of glue on the liner when the upper cover is used.

A wine whiskey glass, also known as a whiskey wine glass or a whiskey tumbler, is a type of glassware designed to enhance the drinking experience of both wine and whiskey. It typically has a wide bowl shape with a shorter stem compared to traditional wine glasses. This design allows for the aromas of the wine or whiskey to be concentrated, while also providing a comfortable grip for holding the glass.
