BERICAP develops a new container mouth

BERICAP has developed a new container mouth with a linked lid and a unique dome that won't drip. The container lid was developed by BERICAP's global R&D center in Dijon, France and is now produced at a plant near Barcelona, ​​Spain. It was adopted by LESIEUR a few months ago for its premium PUGET brand olive oil.

The initial idea for this development was to replace the screw-type lid lifted by the BERICAP French subsidiary by adding new features.

This new cover has a significant loss feature with an easily tearable membrane that blocks oxygen. The non-drip pour spout and flow control design have made BERICAP's lid very successful in the use of edible oils, which has led the company to maintain its leadership in the market for many years.

However, this new cover also uses two other patented technologies to improve customer convenience and satisfaction.

The dome-shaped drip-proof outlet allows more precise and cleaner dumping of olive oil. The dome-shaped pouring spout is completely integrated inside the cylindrical lid, which can be easily applied to the current capping machine without repositioning the capping head.

There are special teardrop-shaped tear lines and a new kind of tear ring on the tear film, which makes it very easy to tear off.

This new feature of the lid was promoted by the LESIEUR company on the label of its PUGET bottle in order to increase customer awareness, but also to enhance the competitiveness of the product and its market share in France and Belgium. This product is mainly Sold in these two countries.

The lid Material is linear low-density polyethylene that can be used in foods. This material has good leak-proofing properties and makes it easy to tear the film.

This type of lid is currently designed specifically for VERPLAST 29/21 glass or PET bottle necks, but it can also be ported to other size bottlenecks.

The success of PUGET olive oil prompted LESIEUR to adopt another BERACAP 4610 new cap for use in other areas of edible oil packaging.
