What should I do if the ink layer is dull when printing gold and silver powder?

When the gold and silver powder is printed, the ink layer is gray and dark. What caused it? What should I do?

1. Caused by oxidation

Gold powder and silver powder themselves are prone to chemical reactions, and their properties are extremely unstable. After oxidation, the printing ink layer becomes dark. The general solution is to add some transparent yellow or transparent golden color to the gold ink to improve it when printing the gold ink. The reflectivity of the gold layer can reach about 95%. Generally transparent yellow: transparent golden: the mixing ratio of gold powder is 2.5: 0.5: 1 or 3: 1: 1, the effect is good.

2. Too light ink, too much solvent

When the ink is too light, the leveling properties of gold and silver are deteriorated, the viscosity is reduced, the adhesion is destroyed, and the gloss is gray. The solution is to appropriately increase the concentration of gold and silver ink, reduce the amount of solvent, and improve the ink leveling. When increasing the ink concentration, the ink should be stirred evenly along the pouring direction of the ink.

3. The printing plate is too shallow

Because the mesh holes are too shallow, the amount of gold and silver ink will be reduced, resulting in unsatisfactory gloss of the ink layer. The solution is to contact the plate-making factory, appropriately increase the depth of the net hole and compare the proofing. At that time, the net hole should not be too deep, too deep will cause gray and white.

4. Static electricity accumulation

The static electricity on the plastic film will cause the gloss to decrease. The solution is to perform antistatic treatment on the film.

5. Squeegee pressure

If the pressure of the scraper is too high and the angle is too high, the printed material is not ideal. Reduce the pressure or angle. Under normal conditions, the scraper angle is preferably 35 °.
