The original idea of ​​the ocean “grazing farm” was to connect non-swimming organisms such as free-range shellfish, large-scale algae and sea urchin in the traditional shallow-sea breeding areas. These cultivated crops are also often referred to as marine crops. With the development of cultivation and fishery, the proliferation and release of fish fry is also carried out in shallow-sea breeding areas, and then gradually developed, forming the concept of marine “grazing land”. As the first tropical sea ranch in China, Sanya Wuzhizhou Island started the marine ranch project in May 2011. Currently, there are 1,418 various types of cement reefs and 19 ship-type reefs in the nearly 1,000 mu of sea area around Wuzhizhou Island. With a construction fund of 3832 million yuan, a good marine biosphere has been formed, with preliminary marine ecological restoration effects. From this year to 2021, Wuzhizhou Island will re-approve and build nearly 10,000 mu of tropical marine ranch.
