Packaging materials testing methods and standards

There are many kinds of packaging materials, and we usually have plastic, paper, glass, bamboo and so on. For these packaging materials, we usually need to carry out an inspection to see if it meets the national packaging requirements. Different packaging materials, its testing standards and testing methods are different.

Often for these types of packaging materials, we mainly perform two tests:

1. Strength test, a multi-faceted and all-round inspection of the stretchability, deformation rate, heat seal strength and strength of the packaging material, thereby judging whether the packaging material is suitable for the packaging of the article. After packaging, its packaging sealing, tear resistance, etc., a series of tests, after being used for packaging.

Second, the barrier test, the gas and liquid after packaging materials are packaged for penetration barrier test, how to check the vacuum of the package, and whether it is easy to leak in the packaging of the liquid.

This is just a routine test. For different packaging materials, we have some different detection methods and standards.

For example, for the detection of carton, we usually carry out a test of pressure resistance, check the maximum pressure of the carton, carry out stacking test, constant pressure measurement and so on. For the detection of plastics, we usually need to analyze the chemical composition to detect whether the plastic will produce toxic substances after heating, whether it is easily damaged after packaging the goods.

In the inspection process for packaging materials, we mainly need to pay attention to the detection of sealing effects, as well as deformation pressure and so on. For different items, the packaging materials we choose are different when we package.
