According to overseas news media reports, the new polyethylene plant of India's Haldia Petrochemical Company was officially launched last week (May 28-June 3rd). The device is part of the Calcutta petrochemical complex.
According to reports, the new additions to the petrochemical complex include: a 200,000-ton/year polypropylene plant (using the Mon tell process); a 120,000-ton/year HDPE unit; and an 80,000-ton/year LLPDE unit (using the BP process ). These devices are supplied by a naphtha cracker. The naphtha plant was commissioned in April this year, with an ethylene production capacity of 420,000 tons/year and a propylene production capacity of 210,000 tons/year.
