folding

(Folding) Maps, brochures, magazines, brochures, books, etc. all require folding. After printing, the page is folded into a booklet with a multiple of two pages, such as four, eight, sixteen, and so on. We call this kind of work a printed leaflet. One-sided printing does not take into account back-side register work, and its folding is called page folding. There are two basic forms of machine folding: vertical folding and parallel folding. Vertical folding means that the page is folded in half, rotated 90 degrees, and folded in the middle. If you still need to fold, continue to follow this method. One fold can generate four pages, two fold to generate eight pages, three times to 16 pages, and so on. Parallel folds are folded twice in the same direction. For example, fold a sheet of paper in half and fold it again while keeping the orientation of the paper constant. A variety of effects can be achieved using vertical and parallel hinges (including folding, folding, double-folding, book folding, French folding, and letter folding). Folding can be accomplished by a fence folding machine, a knife folding machine, and a grid knife folding folder. Grid knife hybrid folding is a combination of fence folding and knife folding. Knife folding machine: The knife folding machine consists of three or four folding units arranged in the correct angle and order. They are used to fold the book at a suitable angle. Printers or bookbinding machines capable of large page folding are usually equipped with a knife folding machine. When the feeder feeds paper to the origami machine, the conveyor conveys the paper to the first folder. The paper is blocked by the side stop, and the folding knife is lowered vertically and the paper is jammed into two oppositely rotating folding rollers. The paper is folded into the folding roller, and after it is sent out again, the first folding is completed. The folded paper is sent to the next unit by the conveyor belt and the folding continues until the desired number of pages is reached. Knife folding machine has sixteen single bills (Zhong Folding), sixteen open double posts and sixteen open four posts three types. Their designs and tasks are different. The 16-sheet single-sheet folding machine can fold four times, including one or two parallel folding devices. It can do up to four vertical foldings, two vertical foldings and one parallel folding, or three vertical foldings and one parallel folding. Because the 16-sheet single-folding folding machine can be adjusted, its application is extremely extensive. A sixteen-fold double-folding folder is used to produce two 16-page folding sheets or a 32-page single folding sheet. If you add a double 32-page widget you can fold out two 32-page signatures. This folding machine is mainly used for publishing work. The sixteen-four-folding folding machine is commonly referred to as a four-folding folding machine and is used to produce four 16-page folding sheets or two 32-page folding sheets. The four-page signature head created by folding a single sheet of paper is closed. This folding machine is mainly used for editing (hard-case bookbinding) and hardcover books installed in the production line. Fence type folding machine: The fence type folding machine has many functions and can complete most of the folding tasks. Its origami part is a standard part, which means that the equipment can update the folding part at any time. Barrier folding machines are suitable for lighter substrates and knife folding machines are suitable for heavier materials. Most bookbinding factories have at least one fenced folder. In Europe, however, people do not like fenced folding machines. When the barrier folding machine is in operation, the diagonal rollers position the paper along the side rails and convey it to the folding device. Each paper folding device includes two metal flaps, and the paper is conveyed between the two metal flaps by two conveying rollers. When the front of the paper hits a plug in the metal flap and stops at a predetermined position, it bends at the entrance to the folding plate. After the paper is bent, the bent portion will be caught by the third roller and the original bottom feed roller and dragged inwards. The two rollers sandwich the paper so that the paper is folded inward. After folding the paper back through the rollers, the folding work is completed. After the first folding, the diagonal rollers arranged along the table will pull the paper out of one folder and then transfer it to the next folder. As the paper passes through the table, it begins positioning and straightening. The order and number of foldings depends on the folding device settings in the folding machine. Up to six flaps can be installed per fence machine. If this processing job does not require a certain fold, by installing a paper guide, the paper will not be guided through the fold. Grid knife hybrid folding machine: The grid knife hybrid folding machine is a combination of knife and fence folding machines. The first parallel fold is often done with a barrier flap, and the subsequent vertical fold is done with a knife fold. If you want to fold another page that is parallel to the vertical fold, you may also use a fence flap again. The conveyor belt is responsible for the transfer of paper in the origami machine. Medium-sized paper often requires multiple folding methods, and it is ideal to use a grid knife hybrid folding machine. The guillotine hybrid folder is also very suitable for thicker paper because thicker paper does not require too many rollers and the paper texture has little effect on folding.
