Recently, the Jilin Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce commissioned Baicheng Industrial and Commercial Bureau to conduct random inspections on wooden furniture products produced and sold by enterprises in Changchun City and Chengdu City.
This sampling is based on GB 18584-2001 "Limited Quantity of Hazardous Materials in Wood Furniture for Interior Decoration Materials", GB/T3324-2008 "General Technical Conditions for Wood Furniture", GB/T15102-2006 "Immersed Acrylic Paper Finished Panel" and The national or industry standards identified by the product focus on the samples such as static bending strength, formaldehyde emission, internal bonding degree, water absorption thickness expansion rate, and immersion peeling. A total of 22 batches were sampled, 15 batches were unqualified, and the failure rate was 68.18%.
The main quality problems with unqualified samples are as follows:
First, formaldehyde exceeds the standard. Formaldehyde (HCHO) is a colorless, easily soluble irritant gas. According to epidemiological investigations, long-term exposure to formaldehyde can cause cancer in the nasal cavity, mouth, nasopharynx, throat, skin and digestive tract. According to the national mandatory standard GB 18584-2001 "Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Wood Furniture for Interior Decoration Materials", the formaldehyde emission of wood furniture products should be less than or equal to 1.5mg/L. The primary reason for the unsatisfactory release of formaldehyde in wood furniture products is the use of wood-based panels or adhesives with high formaldehyde content to produce furniture, followed by the use of facing materials without sealing or poor sealing. With a single-face finish process, no proper post-treatment process is applied after the board is produced.
Second, the static bending strength is unqualified. This project is an important indicator reflecting the mechanical strength of the product, and refers to the pressure strength that the sheet can withstand when it is bent to break. It mainly depends on the quality of the wood and the glue, and finally reflects the anti-destructive ability of the floor groove combination. The higher the index, the better the bending strength of the floor against external force. If the static bending strength is unqualified, cracks and even cracks may occur, which may affect the service life of the product.
Third, the impregnation and peeling performance was unqualified. The immersion peeling performance reflects the peeling and delamination ability of the sheet rubber layer, and the ability of the rubber layer to resist warm water immersion. Products that are not qualified for the dip-peeling project are likely to cause delamination defects during use and loss of function.
Fourth, the water absorption thickness expansion rate is unqualified. This project is an important quality indicator for wood-based panels and is an indicator for assessing the dimensional stability of wood-based panels as they change with air humidity during use. The water absorption thickness expansion rate is unqualified, the strength of the artificial board will be significantly reduced after damp, and the surface protrusion or even falling off will seriously affect the service life. The reason for the failure is that the substrate hot pressing process is not good or the quality of the sizing process is poor, so that the product is easy to expand when exposed to moisture, and is easily cracked in case of external force.
Fifth, the internal bonding strength is unqualified. The project is to determine the maximum breaking tensile force inside the product substrate, the size of which is affected by the density distribution of the plane. The internal bonding strength is unqualified, reflecting that the internal strength of the wood-based panel substrate does not meet the standard requirements, which seriously affects the service life. The reason for the failure is mainly that the substrate hot pressing process is not good or the sizing process is of poor quality.
The unqualified sample trademarks are related to: Ou Pai, Bao Lai Jia, Yi Yi, Ya Ju, Yi Rube, Raccoon, Colorful, and Red Double Fruit. Among them, the “European†indoor wooden door produced by the famous Jiangshan Oupai Door Industry Co., Ltd. was judged to be unqualified because the immersion peeling strength was not up to standard.
